Practical notes for your stay
- Passport holders from over 60 countries can stay up to 90 days visa-free; other nationalities can apply for an e-Visa online or through their local embassy.
- For medical advisories, vaccine information and country-specific guidance, refer to the CDC Travelers' Health portal or the WHO International Travel and Health website.
- It is strongly recommended to drink bottled water while in Senegal.
- The currency is the CFA franc (notes from 1,000 to 10,000; coins up to 500). Euros are more widely accepted than dollars or pounds, and offer a better exchange rate — inform your bank before travelling if you plan to withdraw cash.
- Senegal operates on GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) year-round.
